Steam Next Fest | June 2026

The June Steam Next Fest started yesterday, shortly after the Steam Summer Showcase and both share a bit of the same demo’s. I talked a bit about the demo’s I played for the Steam Summer Showcase. There weren’t as many demo’s this time around that I wanted to pick up, which honestly, is a good thing. There are so many cute games with unique features to demo this time around! Let’s hope I’m not too demo burned out after this lol.

the 3 demo’s I’m looking most forward to;

Leafy Corner | You run a cute plant shop and it’s one of those games where you learn about plants on the way. I love a good cozy game that also doubles as something to learn from! I’m really bad at keep plants alive in real life so any game that allows me to let a plant thrive, even virtually, I’m all for.

Leafy Corner releases on July 30th

Woodo | The art style for this is so cute, it’s described as a 3D coloring book style. The game play preview looks really unique and I can’t wait to dive into this one!

Huglings | A unique game about restoring their village and is co-op friendly. The art style for this one is also really cute and different. The animals just look like something you could pluck out and hug, the character creation looks really good and the home decor in the trailer?! Yesss. Now I just need to know — can I hug people, cause that would be awesome if I could.

other demo’s I picked up;

Ambroise Niflette | I’m not sure how I feel about this one just yet — it’s super cute and modeled after stop motion. It looks like a really cute brain off kind of game but I’m wondering if the game play time is longer than I’m expecting it to be.

Froggy Brews | A frog. That owns a tea shop. Where you make and serve tea. I mean… what else is there to say? The amount of cute + whimsy from just watching the trailer is enough to pull me in.

Little Herbal Baker | oh my goodness how cute is this game?! You’re a baker (yes, sign me up) that gathers ingredients in the wilderness and you can interact with spirits?! Uh Hell yes! I find baking games to be hit or miss, I’m really hoping I love this game because it sounds so cute!

Moonlight Peaks | I demo’d this the first time it came out on a Steam Next Fest a few years ago and after playing the first round, I didn’t come back to it despite all the updates they included. I was really looking forward to the release of this game until I heard it got pushed back and there’s a ton of games that have been doing that lately. Granted yes, we want to play games that the developers are confident about rather than just throwing something out there but also… I’m impatient.

I decided to give this demo another go since it now has a release date for July 7th and I’m hoping it’s actually released. The elements in this game are things that I would naturally be drawn to so I’m excited to see what new things they added to the most recent demo.

As much as I want to stream these demo’s, I know I won’t be able to. At least, not in the way I want since my kids are always yapping in the background while they play Roblox and it can be super distracting, for me lol. I do think I’ll maybe record game plays and do voice overs (once I figure out how?!) for them. I do prefer to catch my reactions as they happen in real time though, buuuut we’ll see.

What are you most excited to try for this Steam Next Fest?
