Gaming Recap | May 2026
Hi, this month was a bit of a blur. May tends to do that to me for some reason. I’ve been relying on my camera roll to remind me of how the week or month went; clearly my perimenopause brain fog is really fogging at this point. Summer always just feels like it should be a brain off season, but as an adult that’s not entirely possible, sadly. That said, the gaming was a bit slow in May.

Mobile Gaming;

Still spending my mobile/iPad gaming time playing the same games — Cat Trip and Disney Match 3D. I downloaded a few new games on my iPad I can’t wait to try, and I’m hoping they don’t require me to buy anything but that might be a stretch.
Do you see the little hedgehog peaking over the bridge?
While I love finding new favorites, I hate how I get stuck in such a loop about them. I’ve been bouncing between these two games for months now. And as much as I want to rebuild my Zen Word level’s, I’m so sad I lost all that progress.
Steam Gaming;
I’ve been on the hunt for Steam games I can play on my MacBook Neo, assuming I’d have the time and energy to play and not fall asleep. Sometimes it happens, most of the time it doesn’t. I end up falling asleep while playing so a bit of stuff is fuzzy to me. There are a good amount of games on my backlog that do work, but demo’s do not. So I can’t do my demo play peacefully in my room, sadly. Dang.
A Storied Life; I saw a bit of hype around this game and decided to pick it up, it wasn’t too expensive either. It plays a bit like Hozy, you know those cleaning type games, except in this one you’re uncovering the stories of someone else’s life. It’s a little confusing sometimes and I think it’s because I’m not really playing it all in one sitting that the story can get a bit lost to me. Might just be the brain fog and exhaustion talking though. Whatever it is, it’s taking me awhile to get through.
I do enjoy it, and the rooms are smaller so it’s not like you’re cleaning for what feels like forever. As someone who lives with anxiety and contamination ocd, cleaning on a game isn’t as satisfying as cleaning in real life and knowing your home is clean. But I can see the appeal to games like this.

Palia; I got back on Palia to do the new expansion. I kept seeing other peoples posts and screenshots and honestly, it’s a game I’ve always gone back to since its early beta days. I wish I could had kept my hours progress prior to Steam cause I really want to know how much time I have on it as a whole as this point.
The new expansion is pretty cool.. not as cool as Elderwood was, in my opinion, but probably because the Highlands is such a huge map like seriously, if they didn’t give us horses I don’t think I would had been up to even doing the quests at all. Everything is so spread out and the animals are faster and harder to kill. Like please, just bless me with a plushie, is that too much to ask for!? Clearly, it is.
The story line that follows the ending of Elderwood also left me emotionally drained. Like, how freakin sad?! If I wanted to be sad like this I’d go play Cozy Grove, I didn’t sign up for this sadness Palia!! I’m sort of following the quest but also really really confused at what’s going on and who’s who. The land is so pretty and the new bugs to collect as well as the new animals that drop plushies is so exciting. I do wish they had a mob to hunt like how the mushrooms are in Elderwood, a place contained and not like, however far they can run or teleport to because I swear the new Disco Deer has been teleporting into walls.

Final Fantasy XIV;
Went on a hunt for this really cute top in one of the varied dungeons and… that was hell. Knowing I have to get 12 of the currency to even get this top is making me not want it as badly lol. I swear, all these pieces locked behind RNG drops and all this other stuff is wild. What’s wilder is that people like me will actually sacrifice their sanity for a dang glam piece. Let’s be real though, glamour is the real FFXIV end game.
My Island Sanctuary is very very slowly leveling. This whole thing leaves a lot to be desired, but at the same time I guess it’s a nice chill brain off area, esp if you want to feel productive while waiting for your que to pop. I just wish there was more to it? Or that more made sense, I guess. The rewards from it all take forever that’s for sure.
Working my way through getting my other crafters to 100, something I have yet to achieve — get all my DoH to the cap level. It’s ambitious for sure, esp considering the lvl cap is only going to raise again in Jan and gearing these mf’s up is a pain all on its own. I honestly do not know how people make so much dang money on this game! I’ve been here 13 years and I’ve never had more than 5mil on me. But as much as I love crafting, I don’t scout the MB and see what’s selling or any of that other stuff. I assume all the people standing around in Limsa are the people undercutting us all! It would make sense why they’re always chillen there, right!?
Haul of the Month;

Didn’t pick up much in the month of May and if I did it was probably because it was on sale. I am looking forward to playing Tiny Shop after hearing some good things about it. And Vending Machine Co as well.
