Gaming Thoughts | Little Sim World

May 9, 2025 Leave a Comment

This was a game I was looking forward to but not really tracking. The concept and the graphics appealed to me so on release day I did rush to pick it up. I’ve so far played it for 44 hours and I have thoughts.

| The character creation

Let’s start with your character. The image implies you would make this cute chibi-like character right? Well, no, not really. You end up making a derpy looking character with weird hairstyles that don’t really make much sense. No matter what hat you put on, it does not help what so ever. At all. Not even a little bit. Which is a shame since some of these hats look *SO* cute. Just not on your characters head.

The clothing you have access to is super limited until you raise the city level which takes forever, but more on that later. Basically none of your outfits will match, look decent or make sense. And the dude who runs the clothing shop will always insult you, even though you literally buy your clothes from him….

…. make it make sense.

| The life-ing part

This game is hard to explain… on one hand you have a needs bar where your health, energy, etc are. Sort of like The Sims, minus the hacks. The problem is keeping both the health and energy bars up at the same time. If you don’t, you pass out. You can buy medicine to keep your health up, but it doesn’t help by not much. Certain foods can also make your health go down, I’m not sure if certain foods make it go up, I have yet to find out if that’s a thing. Certain foods have tags but I’m not entirely sure what those mean.

Earning money can be done through finding duplicate items or by completing things on the community board. It’s a slow process and I have heard of them adding careers but as of right now there aren’t any. There is a school that you eventually enroll in, but other than helping you level up your skills, there isn’t much else there.

I have found that fishing does give you a good amount of money and bonus, the selling box is right next to the dock. The downside is it takes a cut of your profit and there are only two spots in town so far where you can even fish… both next to each and both across the map from your house.

Also, pay attention to crosswalks and use them, you can be fined if you don’t. Kinda weird, but okay. On that note, as far as I know, you can’t get hit by cars. I’ve tried.

The NPC’s are also not very useful… they don’t seem to have a story line or even a home or anything. The city folk don’t really give you anything. You can’t build relationships with them or converse with them. But you can read their thought bubbles, it’s strange.

Overall, I know this is still early access so there’s still a lot that can be done or improved on. I caught a glimpse of their roadmap somewhere, so there are definitely a lot of things still being loaded into the game and I mean for an early access it’s a decent game. I’m already over 40 hours in and still want to play… but I think it’s mostly because I want to upgrade my house and wanting to unlock the recipes. Weird, I know, but it’s a thing I do in most games I play.

If it wasn’t for constantly passing out and wasting time, I probably would had given up on the game by now honestly lol.

Did you pick up Little Sim World?
