Gaming Recap | Oct 2025
I can’t believe it’s the end of October, and I can’t believe I never thought to do a gaming monthly recap before.
I didn’t discover or try very many new games this month; I went back to Cozy Grove: Camp Spirit and Hello Kitty Island Adventure to catch up on the stuff I didn’t get from the previous events, despite that the game wasn’t even out on Steam back then but it’s nice they included the option to still get those items. My Apple Arcade save though, that I’ve had for a few years, tells another story. How kids these days feel comfortable gaming on an iPad is beyond me.
Like how do they build entire worlds on Minecraft with these controls?! It’s insane.
Mobile Gaming;
Cozy Grove: Camp Spirit is one that I kept coming back to. I made it pretty far and I got one bear to ascend.. on accident — more on that later. Anyone else hate Andrea as much as I do? Please don’t tell me she gets better cause I ain’t trying to hear that. She gets on my damn nerves. To the point I’ve pretty much axed her like I did Mother Gothal and refuse to do her quests. Ungrateful hoe. That’s why your kid… nvm. I’m not gonna spoil it like that.
Foodie Sizzle I’ve been hooked on this game! I play it every spare moment (and not so spare moment) I have. It’s so addicting for some strange reason! I can’t figure out why. The graphics are cute, it’s got to do with food and the challenges are crazy sometimes. Just know, you will be tempted to spend money.
Zen Word is making me feel not so zen. I swear the words they expect you to find are words I’ve never heard of. I’ve literally gone on a match all the letters spree. Some have even stumped ChatGPT. Like, blog wasn’t considered a word but lob was? The fuck is a lob?! It got as far as we ended up making #JusticeForBLOG and Chat told me to write them a letter. It’s ridiculous but I enjoy it more than your regular word search games.
Cake Sort I’m starting to feel like this was more fun as an ad than it is as an actual game. The amount of shit on the side bar where you see the events and perks and stuff is overwhelming. I don’t know what half that stuff is or where the heck I get my daily reward and I don’t even care to know. You earn enough points just by straight forward playing the game.
The Halloween event makes things tricky only because the colors start to blend into each other making it hard to tell which is the matching cake top and what is a random box in the middle of the screen. Yeah, I don’t know, but I didn’t like it.
Steam Gaming;
Hello Kitty Island Adventure because I needed to get all the items I had “missed”. I still have yet to unlock space or something?? I don’t know. All I know is that the new area is crazy frustrating between how the hell do you breed/color the wheat and where the fuck do I find opal and diamond?! I still have a section blocked off because I STILL haven’t found enough diamond’s to make a damn diamond wand. Not even going to talk about those damn flying things you have to use the bubble wand to catch and somehow glide to them in time before they disappear. Bullshit. I’m so annoyed with this game right now lol.
Disney Dreamlight Valley they released the Halloween event and I’m afraid I somehow missed The Headless Horseman statue in the cash shop, I’m trying not to think about it too hard or I’ll literally cry. The event area is so cute and I wish they’d consider keeping it up forever but I know they won’t. I have yet to unlock Oswald and Sally but good gawd do I hate spending time in the Oswald area. I don’t know why, I just do. Jafar is roaming around like he’s someone worth running into and it’s getting on my nerves. YOU WANT THE DAMN CASTLE OR WHATEVER SO BAD THEN STAY IN THERE.
Cozy Grove doesn’t feel the same after spending so much time with Cozy Grove: Camp Spirit like I liked the bears in Cozy Grove way more than I do in Camp Spirit but like — I forget how many have ascended and I just have a shit ton of gold bears standing around who can’t actually talk to me which makes me sad. But I did hop on once or twice just to see if there was any of the Halloween event I had missed from last year. I know I was missing some bugs, and that really bothered me. Glad I got that completed. I’m sure completing the flowers and seashells is like… a lifelong commitment at this point.
Demo Gaming;
Starsand Island is the only game I played a demo for this month despite my list of Steam Next Fest downloads. I didn’t find the time to do the Next Fest for this month because I was in the hospital and sick out of my mind — so that sucked. I mean I can still technically play some of them now, but the content window for Steam Next Fest is passed. Lame.
I flat out fell in love with this game to the point where I did the demo twice. There’s so much content and so many things to do within the short span of the demo. I’m so excited for this one to be released! I kickstarted this one awhile back and I’m impatiently waiting for my beta key that won’t even be released until December. UGH.
Yeah just went down a rabbit hole on their Discord hoping I was wrong but no, people are just restarting the demo each time lol. Which is literally what I did. Everyone is super helpful on the Discord though, so, yay for that.
I’ll write an actual review of the demo and maybe post my game play or refilm it. I don’t know. But I am super excited for this game!
What are some games that you’ve been playing this month? Tried any new demos or any new games? I’d love to know!
