Square Enix and Jollibee announced a collab they were doing right before it launched on social media — the pinoy’s of the PI were not thrilled about the news considering Jollibee is a Filipino fast food chain that obviously originated in the Philippines.

I can go into a bunch of things and stories about me and Jollibee growing up and into adulthood but I’m sure you’re not here for that.

The collab came with an emote of your character eating a bucket of chicken. I just finally got my code sent to me this morning so I haven’t redeemed it yet but from what I’ve seen it’s your character eating a bucket of chicken. Not specifically a Jollibee bucket but just a plain white chicken bucket. Which is honestly… disappointing. You know what would had been cool? A Jollibee bee minion. But I already know that’s asking for way too much even though Butterfinger literally gave us a whole ass mount. And Amazon or something gave us two whole outfits.

There’s dozen’s of things they could had done instead and I don’t want to be one of those gamers who complain and seem ungrateful we got anything at all.

I appreciate that this collab is introducing Jollibee to people who do not know what it is, welcome to the dark side ya’ll, it’s delicious here and maybe in hopes, exposes people to what a fuckin Filipino is and stop calling us Chinese… no? Too hopeful? Well, maybe some day.

Okay, I redeemed my code. It makes you choose a character to send it to, so I guess it’s not account-wide. I haven’t checked my other characters to see if this is true or not but if it is, that’s… whomp.

I swear I’m not hating on this collab because I’m really really excited that we got something from Jollibee and for the US. Okay, let’s get into the meal!

First of all, can we just take a moment to appreciate the box design? The Moogle with the chicken is so cute! I wish they had made more merch of it! There was also a tee for sale, a hoodie and a long sleeve. I tried ordering them but the site kept crashing. Then on the back it says hear… feel… think… Jollibee. Not me considering on making my own stickers. I wish I had kept this box, is that weird? I DID KEEP THE DRINK CUP THOUGH. I’m not playing around lol.

The drink is definitely on the sour side. Like a Raspberry Lemonade almost with Crystal Boba. I never opt for Crystal Boba in my drinks and I feel like I’m missing out because I really enjoyed them! And of course, they’re very within theme.

Can we talk about how cute this cup is?! I love it so much! And yes, I saved mine. And yes, I plan to save all the ones I get.

I really enjoyed this collab and I love how cute the Moogles and the Jollibee bee riding the Chocobo are!
